Meet Your Autism Coach
Hi, my name is Ameerah Tyas.
I’m an Australian Certified Behaviour Analyst & Parenting Educator, but the role I am most proud of is being a mum.
I bring both professional and lived experience to my work. As an experienced Behaviour Support Practitioner (with 1000+ hours of supervised experience), I’ve had the privilege of supporting over 100 families worldwide.
I hold qualifications in Applied Behaviour Analysis and Autism Studies from Griffith University.
I truly believe that while doctors, educators, and therapists all play an important role in a child’s journey, parents and carers are the true experts when it comes to understanding, supporting, and advocating for their children.
Is your child struggling with behaviour, communication, social skills, or independence?
Are you feeling overwhelmed, unsure where to start, or wondering what to do next?
I can help.
Through personalised parent coaching, I will guide you with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to help your child flourish at home, at school, and in the community.
Individualised Support
Every family is unique. Grounded in the science of Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) and a family-centred approach, I design support plans around your goals and child’s strengths and interests. Rather than rigid behaviour elimination, we look at the "why" behind your child’s behaviour, addressing sensory needs and creating supportive environments that reduce stress and dysregulation.
You Are the Expert on Your Child
You are your child’s most important teacher. Through parent-mediated coaching, I teach you simple at-home strategies to support your child’s learning and development.
Flexible and Accessible
No travel or routine disruption is needed. I meet you where you are with flexible phone and video sessions that fit easily into your life, no matter where you are in the world.
A Safe, Judgement-Free Space
This is a place to support you, help you recharge, let go of guilt, and remember that your well-being matters too. All families are welcome.

Puberty & Growth: Preparing your child and family for the transition into puberty, body changes, bodily autonomy, and adolescence.
Transitions: Supporting smooth transitions across school settings, community activities, daily schedule changes, and new life stages.
Safety Awareness: Developing essential, functional safety skills at home, near roads, around water, and out in public spaces.
Executive Function & Organisation: Helping your child learn to be organised and build independence through visual schedules, predictable daily routines, and clear step-by-step structures.
My Mission
You Don’t Have to Walk This Journey Alone
Being told your child has autism brings a whirlwind of emotions. I understand because I’ve lived it too.
When my daughter, Hayley, was diagnosed with level 3 autism in 2019, it wasn't a part of the life I had imagined. Instead, I found myself navigating something unfamiliar and unpredictable. Assessments, therapies, interventions and appointments would soon become part of our daily lives.
Autism didn’t come with a guidebook, and there were so many moments when I felt uncertain, exhausted and alone, wondering if I was doing enough.
So I started learning and haven't stopped. What began as a mission to understand autism for my daughter turned into years of study and a passion to make a real difference every day.
My daughter has been my greatest teacher. Today, I do this work to give families the guidance and support I wish I had back then. I believe autism is not something to be cured or a tragedy, but something to be understood, accepted and supported. With the right support, your child can make meaningful progress, build on their strengths, and enjoy a good quality of life.
Whether your child is newly diagnosed or heading into their teen years, I'd love to walk alongside you, guiding you through the highs and lows of autism parenting, as someone who has been in your shoes.
My Approach
Ethical & Neurodiversity-Affirming Care
My practice is centred on compassionate, low-pressure support that respects your child’s dignity, autonomy, communication and individual differences. I believe in working closely with parents, carers and other professionals so your family has a circle of support, where the people around your child can work together towards shared goals. I believe families should feel heard, respected and involved in decisions about their child’s support.
My practice is aligned with the NDIS Code of Conduct, the Code of Ethical Practice, and the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UNCRPD). These principles guide my commitment to dignity, self-determination, inclusion, safety and respectful, evidence-informed practice.
I am committed to ongoing professional learning and reflective practice so that the support I provide continues to be thoughtful, ethical and informed by current evidence.
Guided by the PACT Framework
I integrate the PACT framework into my work. It’s an approach developed by neuroscientist Anne-Laure Le Cunff that helps us replace big, heavy expectations with tiny, manageable experiments:
Purposeful: Carefully planned together during your initial consultation, focusing on what matters most for your child right now.
Actionable: Breaking big challenges down into small, manageable steps rather than overwhelming to-dos, so they fit naturally into your everyday life.
Continuous: Real progress takes time, repetition and practice. We keep working on skills together, revisiting strategies, adjusting them when needed, and practising over time so new skills can become natural parts of everyday life.
Trackable: Keeping things clear and simple with a monthly review of what we’ve been working on together, the progress we’re seeing, what’s been challenging, and where we’ll focus on next.

"A big shout out to Ameerah for all the support and advice she has given us over the past two years. With her help, we have been able to better manage Demi's challenges and support her learning and development. Highly recommended."
